School Aims To enable all of our children to achieve their full potential; To empower our pupils with skills for life; To provide a welcoming, happy and safe environment for children, parents and staff; For our children to be happy and enjoy all the areas of school life; To help pupils to develop healthy, fit bodies and equip them with a wide range of physical skills; To make learning exciting, creative and fun; To develop confident and independent learners; For our children to develop self esteem and be confident, responsible individuals; For our children to have an understanding of and respect for their own and other beliefs and cultures. At Woodfield, we aim to develop strong attitudes to learning. We encourage children to develop and demonstrate the attributes of pride in their work, co-operation with other, high expectations of themselves and perseverance in the face of challenges. One child from each class is chosen each week as "Star of the week" for demonstrating these attributes. We also chose one child from each class as our Growth Mindset Champion of the week. They are given a certificate in our Friday Success assembly. All parents and carers are openly and warmly invited to attend the assembly. In this academic year 2017-18, we are going to build on this further with our termly attitude "theme".
