On Thursday 5th March, it is World Book Day. We will be having a ‘home clothes day’ where your child may come into school wearing casual clothing instead of school uniform. There is no expectation for your child to dress as a book character, but they can do if they’d like!

During World Book Day, the teachers across school will be doing lots of exciting reading-themed activities, with a goal of celebrating reading and the enjoyment we can have from picking up a good book!

Additionally, we will be having an exciting ‘potato book character’ competition! In class, the teachers will be giving the children a potato to decorate as a favourite book character, and we’ll be having a whole school competition to judge the best potatoes! (You do not need to provide your child with a potato).

At the end of the school day, we will be displaying the potatoes in classrooms and you are welcome to come in and have a look at the marvellous creations!

We’re really looking forward to an exciting day to really promote a love of reading!

Thank you to Roots and Fruits on King Edwards Road for supplying the potatoes for us!
